Victoria: An AI Powered Library Assistant
Victoria:
An AI-Powered Library Assistant
The State Library Victoria, Australia wants to help their users explore, discover and use digital items. At any point, the library’s shelves have only 5% of the library’s entire collection and the users do not have a convenient method to access the digital content. As part of Ozchi, a 24 hour design challenge, my team and I worked on a voice based artificial intelligence companion which has access to all of the library’s digital content. Victoria, named after the library itself, helps the user access the digital resources of the library, give suggestions, connect with people and facilitate user contributions to the library

Overview
Our process involved research, analysis, brainstorming, design and detailing. The final solution incorporates a technology developed by the MIT Media Lab in 2018 - Alter Ego.
We documented our process and progress through a blog, and submitted a short video demo of our solution - all within the 24 hour timeframe.
We eventually developed Victoria further and presented it at the Student Design Consortium at IndiaHCI 2019!
